Earth Guardians
On campus I am a member of the Greeley chapter of Earth Guardians. We work towards helping resolve environmental issues within our local community. A few events we have hosted included a food waste audit, upcycling Halloween decorations, Earth Week and winter supply drives.
I enjoy getting to meet new people in the community and learning about their stories while working to help the environment.
Meteorology
Although not my main academic interests, growing up in Colorado I have an interest in meteorology. I have taken one course of meteorology in college and made a homemade thermometer for a meteorological instruments project. Outside of school I enjoy observing local weather and photographing clouds, snow and lightening phenomena.
Geology
I’ve had a passion for geology since I was very little growing up near Pikes Peak and the Rocky Mountains. This is the primary study of my earth science minor. I enjoy learning about the importance of geology in cities and specifically the importance of soil.
Photography
I love taking photos of the outdoors, whether that includes snails, butterflies or jellyfish. I enjoy capturing natural phenomena that I occasionally use in classes and when explaining cool science to people.
